Best Factoring Companies for New Authority: What to Compare (2026)

We are an independent directory. Prices and terms below come from each vendor’s own website on the date shown, and they change often, so confirm before you sign. Some outbound links are affiliate links and are always labeled; they never change what we include or how we order it. Disclosure.

Short answer

  • New authorities can factor from the first load. The factor checks your brokers’ credit, not yours.
  • In your first year, flexibility beats a slightly lower rate: no long contract, no monthly minimum, no forced “factor everything.”
  • Get the full fee schedule in writing and compare at least two quotes.

Red flags in a first factoring contract

When to line it up

Apply while your authority is pending (some factors allow it), so you can factor the first load. Many new carriers set up factoring, insurance, an ELD and a load board in the same few weeks. Frequently asked questions

Can a brand-new trucking authority get factoring?
Yes. Factors mainly judge the credit of the brokers and shippers who will pay your invoices, not your time in business. OTR Solutions says you can apply before your authority is even active, and Bobtail says it accepts new authorities and doesn’t check your personal or business credit to approve you.
What do I need to apply for factoring?
Typically your USDOT and MC numbers, proof of insurance, a driver’s license, business formation or ownership documents, and disclosure of any existing liens (UCC filings). Bobtail lists a driver’s license and insurance document to get started; OTR Solutions lists proof of insurance, articles of ownership and operating authority.
What is the best factoring company for new authority?
We don’t rank by star ratings. For a new authority, the safest choices are usually the ones with short or no contracts, low or no monthly minimums, clear all-in pricing and free broker credit checks. Compare at least two written quotes on the same terms.
Should a new authority choose non-recourse factoring?
It can protect you from one broker failure wiping out your cash, but it rarely covers disputes, and it may cost more. See our recourse vs non-recourse guide for what to ask.
Do factoring companies give fuel advances?
Many do, and some pair factoring with a fuel card or fuel credit line. CFX Solutions advertises a $1,500 fuel credit line per truck; Apex Capital includes a free fuel card. Ask whether fuel advances carry a separate fee.
